Ìrántí is Yoruba for memory.
Founded in Lagos by Justina Gabriel, after too many years of watching good people be forgotten by other good people who had simply run out of attention.
In a city that moves like this one, the small gestures are the first things to go. The birthday noticed a day late. The thank-you that was meant and never sent. None of it is unkindness — remembering costs attention, and attention is the scarcest thing anyone has.
So we hold it. For our clients, and for the people they would never want to overlook.
We make quiet things. A gift is for the recipient, not for the room.
How we choose
Every item has to earn its place.
We learn the person
What they are like. What they already own. What they would never buy for themselves and would keep for years.
We choose the reason
If we cannot say why something belongs in the box, it does not go in the box.
We write it down
The reasons go on a card, by hand. It is the part they keep long after the gift is finished.
